Terms of Service

Rex is operated by [LEGAL ENTITY], a [STATE] limited liability company. By creating an account or using the service, you agree to these Terms.

Rex is a study aid for law students. It uses third-party AI (currently Anthropic) to help you generate case briefs, format notes, and synthesize course outlines from materials you provide. Rex does not provide legal advice and is not a substitute for your own academic work.

You must be 13 or older to use Rex. You’re responsible for the security of your account credentials and for any activity under your account. Don’t share accounts or use the service to impersonate others.

You retain ownership of your syllabi, case text, notes, briefs, and outlines (“Your Content”). You grant Rex a limited license to process Your Content to operate the service for you — including transmitting it to Anthropic to generate AI output — and to back it up.

AI-generated output (briefs, summaries, outlines) is provided as study assistance. It may contain errors or omissions. You are responsible for verifying accuracy before relying on any output for academic, professional, or legal purposes. Rex makes no warranty of accuracy.

You agree not to:

• Use Rex to misrepresent AI output as your own original work in violation of your school’s academic integrity policy.
• Use Rex to upload third-party copyrighted material in bulk for redistribution.
• Attempt to access other users’ data, reverse-engineer the service, or evade rate limits.
• Use Rex to generate output for commercial resale.

Subscription fees are billed in advance through our payment processor. Trial users may use Rex free for 14 days; if you don’t cancel before the trial ends and convert to a paid plan, you’ll be charged at the rate you selected. Refunds for paid periods are at our discretion.

You can cancel anytime from Settings. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms or for other operational reasons. Upon cancellation, you have read-only access for 90 days, then your data is deleted (see Privacy Policy).

Rex is provided “as is.” We disclaim all warranties to the maximum extent permitted by law. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the prior 12 months. We’re not liable for indirect or consequential damages.

We may update these Terms. Material changes will be communicated by email or in-app notice. Continued use after notice constitutes acceptance.
